The privacy and security of your personal information is important to us. Earning and maintaining your trust by carefully and respectfully managing your personal information is fundamental to how we do business. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (Policy) sets out Industrial Training Associates' (ITA) policy on collecting, storing, and using information collected about you, including personal information. ITA is fully committed to ensuring the proper management and use of all personal information it collects and handles by applicable New Zealand privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1993 up to 30 November 2020 and the Privacy Act 2020 from 1 December 2020 (in each case, the Act).

Personal information includes any information or opinion about an identified individual or an individual who can be reasonably identified from that information. The information or opinion will still be personal whether it is true or not, regardless of whether we have kept a record of it.

How do we collect personal information?
Information (including personal information) may be collected in several ways. ITA will generally collect personal information from you directly, including through the following means:

How do we store and protect your personal information?
Much of the information we hold about you will be stored electronically. We store some of your information in secure data centers that are located online (including cloud storage providers). Some information we hold about you will be stored in paper files.
We use a range of physical, electronic, and other security measures to protect the security, confidentiality, and integrity of our personal information. For example:

employees and our contracted service providers are bound by internal information security policies and are required to keep information secure;

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer safe, for example, if you feel that the security of any account you have with us has been compromised, please immediately contact us (see Contact Us below).
To whom do we disclose your personal information, and why?
We may use your personal information to offer you products and services directly. They may be of interest and value to you, but we will not do so if you tell us not to. We may offer you products and services by various means, including mail, telephone, email, SMS, or other electronic means, such as social media.
When we market products and services to you, we will comply with applicable Privacy Laws to obtain your consent if required.

Access to and correction of personal information
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you. You can also ask for corrections to be made. To do so, please contact us.
There is no fee for requesting that your personal information be corrected or for us to make corrections. However, in some limited circumstances, there may be a reasonable charge for giving you access to your personal information. This charge covers locating the information and supplying it to you.
Under Privacy Laws, your right to receive access to your personal information or make corrections to it is not absolute, and exceptions exist. For example, we are not required to give you access to your personal information where giving you access would pose a severe threat to any person’s life, health, or safety, or to public health or safety, where providing access would be unlawful, where giving access would have an unreasonable impact on other people’s privacy or where we reasonably conclude your request is frivolous or vexatious.
If we refuse to give you access to or correct your personal information, we will provide you with a notice explaining our reasons except where it would be unreasonable. Suppose we refuse your request to correct your personal information. In that case, you also have the right to request that a statement be associated with your personal information, noting that you disagree with its accuracy.
